Chibuzo Anthony Efobi is a dynamic professional with extensive local and international experience, consistently demonstrating leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. His expertise spans financial institutions, regulatory oversight, and strategic project management.
Chibuzo joined the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in April 2010, serving in various high-impact roles, including Director of the Financial Policy and Regulation Department and Director of the Payments System Management Department until his retirement in May 2024. His tenure at CBN was marked by significant initiatives such as the Payments Ecosystem Realignment, the Repositioning of the Nigeria Commodity Exchange, the implementation of the Global Standing Instruction (GSI) for loan recovery and the banking sector reforms, including the creation of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria.
Prior to his CBN career, Chibuzo held key positions in leading financial institutions, including United Bank for Africa (UBA), Access Bank and HSBC Bank Plc UK, where he gained invaluable experience in quality management, operations, investment and relationship management.
Chibuzo holds a degree in Accounting from the University of Nigeria and an MSc in International Economics, Banking, and Finance from Cardiff University, Wales. He has also completed the Executive Program at MIT Sloan School of Management.
With a strong foundation in risk management, policy formulation, regulatory compliance, financial regulation and macroprudential analysis, Chibuzo continues to contribute his vast knowledge and experience as a Partner at Quadrant Advisory Limited.
